Seto Gurans National Child Development Services with financial support from the UNICEF Nepal, is implementing "emergency response project". For this, SGNCDS hereby invites applications from qualified, competent, and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position(s):

 

Position: Admin/Finance Officer

Duty Station: Seto Gurans National Child Development Service center office Lalitpur

Period: Till December 2026 [with possibility of extension]

Terms& Conditions: Fixed-Term Contract
Required No: 1

Academic Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in management (3 years' experience) or master’s degree (1 years' experience) in NGO sectors.

Technical Knowledge

  • Previous work experience in an NGO environment and in basic HR functions/administration skills is an advantage.
  • Strong computer literacy, and proven experience of computerized accounting packages and using Excel Spreadsheets (MS Office Package), FAMAS.
  • At least 3 years of experience in relevant field

Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and accounting software

Experience in Procurement Financial Reporting, and budget monitoring

Knowledge of procurement procedures and administrative systems

Good understanding of NGO financial policies, donor requirements, and compliance

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Knowledge of Nepal government tax, TDS, and statutory requirements would be an advantage.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely financial reporting, supporting budget management, and ensuring compliance with donor, government, and organizational policies. The position supports effective financial operations, transparency, and accountability of assigned projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting software (FAMAS).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as per internal and donor requirements.
  • Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Support financial planning and cash flow management.

2. Accounts & Documentation

  • Handle day-to-day accounting transactions including vouchers, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Manage payments to vendors, consultants, and service providers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor accounts receivable/payable and cash flow management.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial records (hard and soft copies).
  • Review supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • TDS deposit & filling and ensuring all the TDS are deposited in time

 

3. Audit & Compliance

  • Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and providing explanations.
  • Support implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial and procurement policies.
  • Ensure adherence to government tax laws and donor financial regulations.

4. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with other staff for financial data collection and support.
  • Provide training and technical support to program team regarding the financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with donors, government, and organizational financial guidelines.
  • Maintain staff attendance records and leave tracking in coordination with HR/Admin.
  • Assist in preparation of employment contracts and personnel documentation.
  • Support statutory compliance related to staff benefits (tax, social security, etc.).
  •  Support to maintain confidentiality of employee records and HR information.

5. Safety and Risk Management

  • Ensure the financial and physical security of organizational assets.
  • Comply with organizational Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policies.
  • Identify and report potential risks.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the organization as required.

Salary and benefits shall be provided in accordance with the rules and policies of Seto Gurans National Child Development Services (SGNCDS).
